Carolina Castells Bio

 

Carolina Castells, soprano, has performed roles such as Anna (Nabucco), Antonia (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Cendrillon (Cendrillon), Desdemona (Otello), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Emily Webb (Our Town), Magda (La rondine), Micaëla, (Carmen), Sarah Good (The Crucible), and Susannah (Susannah). Ms. Castells has sung with the Brevard Music Center, Florida Opera Theater, Des Moines Metro Opera, the International Vocal Arts Institute, Opera Naples, Sarasota Opera, and the St. Petersburg Opera Company. As a soloist, she has performed Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and 9th Symphony, Brahms’ Deutsches Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and the Verdi Requiem. Ms. Castells has also performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Masterworks Chorale, New World Symphony, Seraphic Fire, and Symphony of the Americas. She is a graduate of Indiana University and the University of Miami and has been a finalist in the Irma M. Cooper Opera Columbus International Vocal Competition, a semi-finalist for the Marcello Giordani Foundation International Voice Competition, a recipient of the Richard F. Gold Career Grant, and a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
