Ryan Allais
American tenor Ryan Allais continues to captivate audiences across the United States with versatile performances spanning opera, musical theater, and concert repertoire.
He recently performed the title role in Amore Opera's production of Faust, appeared as a soloist in Vaughan Williams’ On Wenlock Edge with the Jackson Heights Orchestra, and joined the East West Collective for their Echoes in the Parlor series. Recital engagements include In meinem Lied in Taos, New Mexico, presented alongside his husband, tenor Alonzo Jordan Lopez. On the operatic stage, Mr. Allais recently sang Gastone and Giuseppe in a public reading of La Traviata with Felix Jarrar and appeared as Tom Tom in VHRP LIVE!’s production of Babes in Toyland.
A dedicated champion of contemporary music, Mr. Allais created the role of Tony in the 2022 world premiere of Jed Bolipata’s The Wages of Sin. Additional credits in new and standard repertoire include the world premiere of Felix Jarrar’s Ulster County Songbook, Giulio Gatti-Casazza in Thomas Pasatieri’s The Vaudevillian, and Matteo Borsa in Painted Sky Opera’s Rigoletto. Further operatic appearances include New Camerata’s Cav/Pag, Roberto in Tosca and Giuseppe in La Traviata with Painted Sky Opera, and Prunier in La Rondine.
An accomplished instrumentalist, Mr. Allais regularly performs on trombone with the Amore Opera orchestra, the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, and the Jackson Heights Orchestra.
Earlier achievements include engagements in Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera and Beethoven’s Fidelio with Santa Fe Opera. On the concert stage, he has appeared as a soloist with the New Mexico Bach Society and the Kaemper Music Series, and in chamber presentations of On Wenlock Edge with Taos Soundscapes.
Mr. Allais holds a Master of Arts in Non-Profit Arts Administration and a Master of Music in Opera Performance from Oklahoma City University, as well as a Bachelor of Music Education in Voice from New Mexico State University.
